I never intended to be away from SC or my characters for so long. It just kind of happened??? I think NaNo ate my writing brain for awhile and December was like a recovery month or something. The game had kind of slowed too. I have the brain space again for playing. These are the people I have on my list for now:

I may drop Eli and Jack as I'm not quite certain what to do with them, but I have not decided that for certain so they are just on hiatus. It seems like a good plan to start small at least since I haven't played in so long. I may do some open posts or tag into others? Or if anyone wants private threads???

I should've posted a note about this about a week ago so I do apologize. And it seems like a poor time to take a hiatus considering everyone is also on hiatus (babies come back), but I can't keep up with my nano word counts and all my tags so I'm just going to end the guilt.

I'll try to continue tags here and there (I can probs catch up some next week during vacation).

Remember this post is a place for you to test/play any new characters that are wiggling around in your brain so that you can get a feel for their voice and decide if you want to put in an application to bring them into the game. New Players that haven't officially joined the game are also welcomed to Dry Run. You can put as much background information as you want or don't want into your opening blurb. Other players can interact with your test character with either established characters or their own test characters. Make sure sure everything is in-character or properly marked OOC.

Your pup just pulled out their phone to send a text message. No big deal, right? Well...unless it goes to the wrong person (oops), but at least it makes for an interesting conversation?

Options:

The Drunk Text - Your pup really should have let their friends take their phone away from them.
The Breakup Text - Downside: Your pup's current partner doesn't know they aren't they partner anymore. Upside: Your pup just got a break-up text from a stranger so maybe this person is available???
The Funny Text - It was just a joke!
The Sexy Text - Okay, now they've seen your pup naked and this is awkward.
The 3am Text - Your pup couldn't sleep and now they are musing on the mysteries of the world and had an epiphany that just can't wait until morning.
The Needy Text - Your pup just wants someone to talk to right now.
The Accidentally-On-Purpose Text - Did your pup really send it by accident or do they just want the person to think they did?
The Meetup Text - Uh-oh, your pup just told a random stranger to meet them for drinks! (or dinner, or lunch, or a concert or...).
The Autocorrect Fail - Technology has failed your pup.
The Anything Goes Text - You choose the fail.

HOW THIS WORKS:

Give all your pups a top-level that you want to participate in this meme. Other pups will text your pup with a misfired text message.
Text messages can use one of the scenarios above (or make one up) and assumes that the message has been accidentally texted to the wrong person or if you want it can be on purpose!
This meme is not canon so feel free to do whatever you'd like.
Go find another top-level and text other pups!
Wash, rinse, repeat. Just have fun!

Just a general update:

We're working on threading it, but as of Sunday, August 23rd (if not before), Raleigh's soul is returned to her. She's mostly keeping her head down out of sheer overwhelmedness, but Orchard House is back open, she's no longer a horrible person who would kick a puppy, etc. She's currently a one-person guilt factory, but that's to be expected until she comes to terms with all of this.

Hey guys!

So, as you may have noticed, Raleigh's now at -1 soul :D

Basically, this is why, and now that she's sufficently drained, I figured we can plot to see how to fix it! I know Joel and Mira and Coop will be involved in some way, but it's open to other people who are interested!

So, yeah! That's what I got. I'd love to see people get involved if they're interested! Raleigh currently thinks Joel may have hit his head or is high, since she can't see her own aura and thinks she's acting just fine.

Just a quick note on the event calendar, sometimes there are gatherings planned for certain days. However, when several things are posted to the comm at once and instead of competing/trampling over player-planned gatherings/events, it's easier just to play it by ear. That's the main reason some gatherings aren't posted or are rescheduled i.e. the 4th of July event. Not because they are forgotten.

ANYWAY. Onward.

This weekend we will be posting the Siren Cove Comic Con gathering. This is just a quick plotting post incase anyone wants to hash things out. There are several characters with businesses, careers, and or interests that may have them involved in other ways with the Con than just being an attendee.

ALSO COSTUMES.

ALSO panels. ALSO GUESTS.

ALSO this is all just for fun since SDCC is this weekend too. It could be fun to bring a little fandom into Siren Cove.

If there are any ideas and/or requests for this gathering, just let us know. We are always happy to help make things happen.

DRY RUN NUMBER 13!

HAY GUYS.

I've been kicking around the idea since I brought her, and there's no time like the present, so!

Raleigh's going to be slowly losing a good deal of her soul over the next month. Joel will figure it out sometime in July when he tries to fix Raleigh's leg. Step two of the plot (her getting it back) is something that I need to still figure out the exact logistics for, although I'm slowly working at them. If you're interested in being involved, DM me on twitter, we may be able to work something out!

How does this affect you? Well, mostly - Raleigh's not going to be as nice, moving into being downright mean as time goes on; all the good parts of her soul are getting taken first, and by the end... well. It's going to be interesting.

I'm also going to putting up several posts for her, as well as tagging her into any gatherings that come along, so that I can spread her around.

Note: Please do not godmod your character magically finding out what's wrong without talking to me. Raleigh will seem to be acting weird, but it's not like she's turned purple or something. That being said, totally obvious that she's acting weird, especially as time passes. :D

DRY RUN NUMBER 12!

Ah yes, a blind date. Let the awkward or the romance commence. No matter how awkward and unexpected they might be, there is always something exciting about meeting someone new. Will your pup find the person of their dreams tonight or live out their worst nightmare? Who will be their company for the evening? Someone they have a crush on....or that hideous person from the office that they hate?

Let's find out shall we...

RULES:

1. For all characters participating, post your character in a new top-level. They are now in the middle of a blind date in some alternate universe.
2. Comment on other character's top-levels with your own pups.
3. If you are feeling dangerous, you can go to Random.org and roll a single die to come up with a prompt:

DIE 1 : First date -- You've never been out on a date before, so someone's decided to give you a helping hand.
DIE 2 : On the rebound -- You're recovering from a painful breakup, but your friends/family think they found a great person for you anyway.
DIE 3 : Not strangers at all -- Someone thought you didn't know your date. Turns out you know them from somewhere.
DIE 4 : Hideously awkward -- Hey wait, that's your ex/boss/doctor/distant family member! Or, even worse, it's that person you absolutely despise. This will go well!
DIE 5 : Existing partner -- You two are just acting like strangers to spice up your love life.
DIE 6 : Future spouse -- Unfortunately, you have to have an arranged marriage. Fortunately, you get to meet that special someone for a date beforehand. How will the night go?
OTHER : Or instead of rolling, come up with your own scenario!

4. Play out the date! Characters with relationships are free to completely erase all canon or keep it, do as you wish. If your characters are currently dating someone now is your chance to rewrite history. This meme can be completely fluffy, smutty, or hilarious. It doesn't even have to be romantic.

This is just a quick post to collect some ideas for future gathering and event ideas for the upcoming months.

These are not big plot ideas (thought feel free to send those to us, we love those as well). This is for one-off post ideas for comm-wide gatherings/events that you would like to see take place. We keep a running list of post ideas, but it really helps us when we get ideas from the comm as it takes some of the pressure off the mod crew.

There are no rules about this except to remember that these will be open for all characters. They can involve magic or not, but we know everyone likes the party posts.

All you have to do is comment below and we will add them too our list. We would really loooooove suggestions you have no idea how much it helps us out.
